History
The Syndicate of Chemists was established in 1962, and the legislative body approved the union’s mandatory file in 1992. The syndicate was interested in the chemical and petrochemical industries and in industrial planning, and had an active participation with the Libnor Foundation in discussing Lebanese specifications and standards, and contributed with the Ministry of Agriculture by researching the Food Codex in 1973, and the syndicate participated in the Cairo Conference of Chemists. In 1972 to establish the Union of Arab Chemists. Since its history, the Syndicate of Chemists in Lebanon has become an “active” member of this union.
The 22nd session of the Supreme Council of the Union of Arab Chemists was held in Beirut in 2002, and the Chemical Safety Charter was issued in 2003. It contributed, along with the Educational Center for Research and Development, to developing chemistry education programs in 1999. The union submitted a report on “Possibilities of Oil and Gas Extraction” in 2000, and it was delivered to the President of the Republic, Emile Lahoud, the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, the Prime Minister, Salim Al-Hoss, and also to the martyr Prime Minister. Rafik Hariri, the Council of Ministers approved the mandatory union file and it was referred to the House of Representatives in 2021. The union signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Industry in 2021. One of the most important current topics that the union is concerned about is the treatment of solid waste in Lebanon and its risks to the environment and humans, and the union had an active role.” In shedding light on the solid waste management strategy.
تعريف النقابة
تاسست نقابة الكيميائيين عام ١٩٦٢ ووافقت الهيئة التشريعية على ملف الزامية النقابة عام ١٩٩٢، اهتمت النقابة بالصناعات الكيميائية والبتروكيميائية وفي التخطيط الصناعي ولها مشاركة فاعلة مع مؤسسة ليبنور في مناقشة المواصفات والمقاييس اللبنانية والمساهمة مع وزارة الزراعة بالبحث في دستور الغذاء عام ١٩٧٣، وشاركت النقابة بمؤتمر القاهرة للكيميائيين عام١٩٧٢ لانشاء اتحاد الكيميائيين العرب، فمنذ تاريخه أصبحت نقابة الكيميائيين في لبنان عضوا” فاعلا” في هذا الاتحاد
انعقدت الدورة٢٢ للمجلس الأعلى لاتحاد الكيميائيين العرب في بيروت عام ٢ ٢٠٠ وتم اصدار الميثاق الكيميائي للسلامة عام ٢٠٠٣. ساهمت مع المركز التربوي للبحوث و الانماء بوضع برامج تعليم الكيمياء عام ١٩٩٩ وقدمت النقابة تقرير عن “امكانيات استخراج النفط والغاز” عام ٢٠٠٠ وتم تسليمه الى كل من رئيس الجمهورية اميل لحود ورئيس المجلس النيابي نبيه بري ورئيس الوزراء سليم الحص وايضا” الى رئيس مجلس الوزراء الشهيد رفيق الحريري، وافق مجلس الوزراء على ملف النقابة الالزامية واحيل الى مجلس النواب عام ٢٠٢١. وقعت النقابة مذكرة تفاهم مع وزارة الصناعة عام ٢٠٢١. ومن اهم المواضيع الحالية التي تهتم لأمرها النقابة هي معالجة النفايات الصلبة في لبنان ومخاطرها على البيئة والانسان وكان للنقابة دور فاعلا” في الاضاءة على استراتيجية ادارة النفايات الصلبة
