The Syndicate Of Chemists In Lebanon

The Syndicate of Chemists was established in 1962, and the legislative body approved the union’s mandatory file in 1992. The syndicate was interested in the chemical and petrochemical industries and in industrial planning, and had an active participation with the Libnor Foundation in discussing Lebanese specifications and standards, and contributed with the Ministry of Agriculture by researching the Food Codex in 1973, and the syndicate participated in the Cairo Conference of Chemists. In 1972 to establish the Union of Arab Chemists. Since its history, the Syndicate of Chemists in Lebanon has become an “active” member of this union.

  • Lebanon, as a founding member, participated in the 42nd session of the Supreme Council of the Union of Arab Chemists, hosted by the Bahrain Society of Chemists in Manama, from April 28-30, 2024. In addition to Lebanon and Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, and the UAE also participated. Dr. Abdul Wahed Al-Nakal, President of the Bahrain Society of Chemists, assumed the presidency of the union.

Additionally, a meeting was held with some chemistry and biochemistry students to encourage their participation and membership in the Syndicate.

بيان تحذيريّ هام جدًا

إنَّ مجلس نقابة الكيميائيّين في لبنان يستنكر العدوان الهمجيّ على المدنيين في لبنان، والمجازر الّتي تُرتكب بحق الشَّعب اللبناني. رحم الله الشهداء، ونتمنى الشفاء العاجل للجرحى. رسالتنا اليوم هي للاستنكار والتّوعية حول آثار استنشاق غبار القصف الّذي تتعرَّض له ضاحية بيروت الجنوبيَّة وباقي المناطق اللبنانية. إنَّ حجم الدمار واختراق المباني والأرض لعشرات الأمتار دليل على استخدام القنابل الّتي تحتوي على اليورانيوم المُنضَّب (Depleted Uranium) الّذي يتمتَّع بقوّة اختراق هائلة. إنَّ استخدام هذه الأنواع من الأسلحة المحرَّمة دوليًا وخصوصًا في العاصمة بيروت المكتظَّة بالسكان، يؤدّي إلى دمار هائل، كما أنَّ غبارها يتسبَّب بالعديد من الأمراض، خاصَّة عند استنشاقه.
إنّ مجلس نقابة الكيميائيين في لبنان يطالب المجتمع الدوليّ وقف العدوان على لبنان، ووقف استخدام القنابل المحرَّمة دوليّا، ويطالب الدَّولة اللبنانيَّة رفع دعوى لدى مجلس الأمن ضدَّ الانتهاكات التي تُمارس على أرضنا ومحاولة القتل الجّماعيَّة للمدنيين الأبرياء في لبنان.
يتمنى مجلس نقابة الكيميائيين من المواطنين الكرام عدم الاقتراب من المناطق التي تتعرض لهذا العدوان بقطر يتجاوز الكيلومترين. وتتمنى على المرغمين من الاقتراب لهذه المناطق الالتزام باللباس الواقي للغبار ولوضع الكمَّامات المختصّة للمواد الكيميائيّة.
إنَّ نقابة الكيميائيين تتابع عن كثب استخدام العدو الأسلحة المحرّمة دوليَّا.
